This one miraculously appears here as I was having some major issues with the site just now. Or has it been showing 404 messages for a few days already? I “fixed” it by logging on to the ftp where the optipess.com folder appeared to have been renamed “optipess.com_DISABLED_FOR_LOAD”. Why I don’t know. I haven’t made any changes or even been notified about anything from my site host. Anyway, I changed it back and now it… works? Or maybe I messed it up even more? Please leave a comment if you have some insight (I certainly have none!), or if other stuff seems to be breaking.

Also, I picked up the recently released Dark Forces Remastered the other day, and I’ve felt the nostalgia wash over me ever since. Dark Forces was one of my favorite PC games back in the day, and it’s probably still my favorite Star Wars game as well. The feeling of fragging Stormtroopers with the blaster rifle is still unparalleled to this day. Ah, the 90s!

Personally I would probably go with Unreal Tournament.

Also phew, my boring day job has been exponentially more stressful lately due to a big move, but hopefully things will calm down from now on.

Here is a comic quite possibly definitely inspired by the current Fallout frenzy. After devouring the show I picked up Fallout New Vegas again since I never finished it back in the day. It’s still a (fun) buggy mess!

Here is a comic “inspired” by the current state of the video games industry, and specifically Microsoft’s boneheaded decision to close several studios, amongst them Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin. Arkane especially was a favorite of mine. Prey from 2017 is right there at the top of my list of the best games ever made. For some reason not a lot of people played it. I implore you, check it out!

Here is a comic! It went through countless variations for the final panel. I ended up on the one I liked the most, AND it was the easiest alternative to draw.

Speaking of cosmic horrors: I played Still Wakes the Deep over the weekend, and it really delivered on Lovecraftian vibes and body horror monstrosities. Also, it has a novel 70s oil rig setting and truly excellent Scottish voice acting. Check it out –  if you can tear yourself away from the new Elden Ring DLC.

Yes, I’ve been having restless dreams about that town, Silent Hill lately. Turns out the new remake of Silent Hill 2 is excellent!

Also, I am participating in a new horror anthology series aiming to be out next year! Check it out on Kickstarter! The concept: comic strip artists make longer-form horror stories.
